Textiles are a fascination with Vanessa, and she enjoy the endless combinations of colour and texture one can create with simple materials like wool and twine. She has several interests within textiles including basket masking, which she usually crafts from different types of wool and rope - usually these are crocheted, but she also weaves them as well. Vanessa's baskets are inspired by many cultures and traditions.
She is also interested in pillow making, where she employs a combination of weaving and crocheting. Her weaving is created with looms she makes herself which allows her to enjoy endless patterns of colour and twill. Some of the products she creates on these looms are wall-hangings & tapestries, blankets and kerchiefs.
